A dominant second quarter sent Westfield to a 45-13 Hoosier Crossroads Conference and Homecoming victory Friday at Riverview Health Stadium.
The Shamrocks led 14-7 after the first quarter. Deacon King made two short touchdown runs in that period. King kept things rolling to start the second quarter, punching the ball in from the one-yard line just 24 seconds into the period.
That was the start of a 31-point quarter for Westfield. Mikeah Webster turned an interception into a 27-yard pick six touchdown. Broc Parker made a 23-yard run into the end zone, then Gabe Aramboles grabbed an 11-yard pass from Carsen Melvin and took it in to score.
Owen Wright finished the half with a last-second field goal from 34 yards. Wright also went 7-of-7 for extra-point kicks.
King totaled 108 yards rushing, while Melvin was 11-of-15 passing for 128 yards. Beau Braun had four catches.
Westfield is 4-1 in HCC play and 6-1 overall. The Shamrocks continue conference play next Friday at Fishers.
