Volleyball: Heights sweeps Frankton, Westfield falls to Tri-West

The Hamilton Heights volleyball team swept Frankton Tuesday, winning 25-5, 25-18, 25-22.

Macie Smith had a dominant first set in serving, hitting six aces. Hailey Hall helped clinch the third set for the Huskies, hitting three kills in the middle.

Heights is 11-2 and hosts Logansport Thursday; the Berries are now a Hoosier Conference opponent.

Westfield dropped a straight-set match to Tri-West on Tuesday, 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.

Carsyn Comer hit nine kills, with Audrey Davis and Paige Rudolph putting down seven kills each. Kendyl Strack collected 14 digs.

Izzy Jackson dished out 22 assists, clearing 1,000 career assists along the way. Emily Blevins handed out 14 assists.

The Shamrocks are coming off a 3-1 finish last Saturday at the Yorktown Invitational. Westfield beat Concordia Lutheran 25-10, 25-14, Crown Point 12-25, 25-23, 15-12 and McCutcheon 25-13, 25-13. The Rocks’ only loss was to Bellmont in three tight sets, 25-20, 20-25, 16-14.

Westfield is 8-3 and plays a Hoosier Crossroads Conference match Thursday at Zionsville.
