Woodward to serve as Carmel’s interim human resources director

The City of Carmel announced Thursday that Kim Woodward will serve as the interim Director of Human Resources. Woodward takes over for Lisa Hartz, whose last day was May 23.

Woodward joins the team with more than 25 years of experience, most recently with Cunningham Restaurant Group.

“Kim Woodward’s extensive experience and dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture will be invaluable as we continue to serve our community,” Mayor Sue Finkam said. “We are confident that she will lead our human resources department with integrity and innovation during this transitional period.”

Woodward specializes in strategic human resources plan development and execution, employee relations and using metrics to measure employee success and effectiveness. She comes to the City of Carmel with extensive experience in human resources across various sectors, including technology, education, and healthcare.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Woodward is known for her collaborative approach and commitment to transparency. She has consistently demonstrated an ability to build strong relationships across various departments and with external partners, fostering an environment of trust and cooperation.

Woodward achieved her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, master’s degree in Adult Education and her Master of Business Administration and Human Resources certificate from Indiana University.

As the Interim Director of Human Resources, Woodward will also serve on the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Human Relations.
