Douglas Gene King, 66, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024. He was born on September 16, 1957, to Donald and Marilyn King at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
Doug worked in hydraulic machinery repair in Indianapolis. His employment included ProPack in Indianapolis, K Specialtys, and his own company of King Machinery.
Doug received transplants of a kidney and a pancreas on March 11, 2004, at IU Hospital in Indianapolis. The transplants were very successful in sustaining his body for another 20 years.
Doug is survived by mother, Marilyn (Miller) King; daughter, Catherine (Ben) Schroeder; grandson, Maxwell Schroeder; sister, Nannette (Conan) McDonald; brother, Greg (Angela) King; nieces and nephew, Kelsey (Daniel) Racke, Alicia King (Gage) Lewis, and Kyle (Rachel) McDonald; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Ransom McDonald, Bonnie Lewis, and Gus Lewis.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, with services at 2 p.m., at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Interment will follow service at Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville.
