Westfield cruised to victory in its Hoosier Crossroads Conference season finale on Friday, beating Franklin Central 64-50 at CSI Gymnasium.
The Class 4A No. 3 Shamrocks trailed 14-8 after one quarter. Westfield turned the tide in the second period, outscoring the Flashes 23-9 for a 31-23 halftime lead. The ‘Rocks put up another 20 points in the third quarter to further pull away from Franklin Central.
Nic Book got going in the second quarter, pouring in 11 points. He then proceeded to dominate the second half, scoring another 18 points for a total of 29. Will Harvey had a great night as well, hitting four 3-pointers for 12 points. Charles Farrell added nine points.
Westfield finished HCC play 5-2, tying the Shamrocks for second place with Noblesville. Westfield is 18-2 overall and hosts Pike on Tuesday to finish the regular season.
