Dear Editor:
We have been fortunate enough to travel to other parts of the world. Many of the travelers we meet ask why we live in Indiana. We tell them it is because Noblesville is a great place to live and raise a family. Noblesville Schools are a big part of our answer.
We moved to Noblesville in 1977 to start my family medicine practice. The population at that time was around 17,000. We raised our children here, and both graduated from NHS. We have witnessed the growth of our community and, along with it, the growth of our schools. The growth has not been by accident. We love that the community has been willing to support the many organizations within Noblesville, particularly our school system. That support has helped our school system attract and retain excellent teachers and administrators while providing remarkable opportunities for students.
The programs available today are impressive. Students can pursue EMS certification at NHS and learn welding in dedicated teaching bays – training for which we once paid to send students to J. Everett Light. Internships introduce our students to a wide range of careers and help them discover where their interests and talents can lead.
Strong schools are one of the most important reasons families choose a community. They prepare our children to become productive, engaged members of society and strengthen the community we all share.
Our community’s investments in education make a huge difference for our children, our grandchildren, and all of Noblesville. Holly and I strongly support the referendum. Please vote yes! The Noblesville that we know and love depends on it.
