Dear Editor:

My name is Brody Motz, and I’m a senior at Noblesville High School.

The Noblesville School District has meant everything to me growing up; it has provided me with endless opportunities to grow not only academically but personally as well.

I’ve been involved in many extracurricular activities, but the two I want to highlight are the Noblesville Golf Team and Noblesville Band. I am proud to say that both of these programs are among the best in the state. Our concert band regularly qualifies for state finals, the jazz band is always in contention for the Ellington Jazz Festival, a national competition, and the golf team has placed in the top six at the ISAA State Finals for the past three consecutive years.

While these accomplishments are impressive, it’s the friends, mentors, and memories I’ve made along the way that have made these activities worthwhile. These are the things I can take with me as move on to college and beyond. However, it takes resources, educators, and coaches to keep these programs consistently excellent and worthwhile, and it’s the funding from our referendum that provides us with these resources.

This is why it’s crucial for our new referendum to pass in November: so the younger students who come after me have the same opportunities to make their own memories as I have had.

Brody Motz
Noblesville
