Trailblazers beat ISD, improve to 13-0

The University girls remained undefeated on the season Saturday afternoon with a 67-33 road win over the Indiana School for the Deaf.
Lindsey Syrek led University with 22 points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots. Sierra Hinds had 18 points and five steals. Maddi Sears had a season-high 12 assists and 12 points for a double-double.
The score was tied at 6-6 midway through the first quarter when the Trailblazers took control scoring seven points in 18 seconds. Hinds hit a three pointer off a Sears assist. Sears followed with a steal and a lay-in, then Hinds stole the inbound pass and scored prompting a Deaf School timeout.
University scored the next six points to complete a 13-0 run. Kelsey DuBois, Payton Seay and Sears had buckets to push the lead to 20-6. University led 30-11 after the first.
Freshmen Jordan Patterson and DuBois each finished with six rebounds.
The Class 2A No. 2 Trailblazers improved to 13-0 and will complete a stretch of three games in five days Monday afternoon when they host Randolph Southern at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in a 12:45 p.m. tip.
The Deaf School falls to 9-3 on the season.
