The top-ranked Class 4A Fishers Tigers were in jeopardy of suffering their first loss of the season on Friday, Jan. 23, but then they flipped the switch.
Down 29-21 to host Avon at halftime, the Tigers roared back with a 25-point third quarter and stymied the Orioles 19-2 in the fourth to win 65-50.
Senior Kai McGrew led the Tigers’ comeback charge with a game-high 24 points followed by 15 points from Levi Walker. Junior Cooper Zachary finished with 11 points. Ethan Hillsman had nine points.
Avon’s Jedidiah Minnett paced the Orioles with a team-high 19 points. William Clore had 10 points.
The Tigers are now 4-0 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference games with their next league game at Franklin Central on Friday, Jan. 30.
