On Oct. 9, before the final home football game, Sheridan FFA welcomed the community to its annual Pork Loin Dinner. This annual fundraiser is a way for the organization to continue to create and participate in opportunities throughout the school year.

“It is a great event that allows the community to gather for interaction, conversation, and a great meal while supporting the FFA,” Sheridan High School Principal Rick Davis said.

The money raised from this highly anticipated meal helps Sheridan FFA “pay for entry fees for contests, materials needed for contests, offset convention fees, fund our philanthropy projects, our recreational activities, and anything else we have expenses for in order for everyone that is a member to be able to enjoy the organization and not have a lot of out of pocket expense,” according to FFA Sponsor Scott Ison.

Sheridan FFA typically offers two dinners during the school year to raise funds for the club – one in the fall and one in the winter – to help offset costs for students. These fundraisers help the students continue to stay involved and excel in their expertise.
