The Indiana-based Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation (MDFF) is now accepting applications for its annual educational scholarship, which supports Indiana residents living with muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases as they pursue their educational goals.
Sponsored by Busey Bank, the application is open through June 1, 2026, and provides financial assistance to help reduce barriers to education. Applicants must be Indiana residents diagnosed with muscular dystrophy or a qualifying neuromuscular disease and enrolled with MDFF. The opportunity is open to students pursuing a wide range of educational paths, including two- and four-year colleges, trade schools, and accredited certificate programs.
“This scholarship is about more than financial support; it’s about creating opportunity,” MDFF Executive Director Hannah Oosterlinck said. “We know that individuals living with neuromuscular diseases often face additional challenges in accessing education. Our goal is to help remove some of those barriers so they can pursue their dreams and build independent, fulfilling lives.”
The MDFF Educational Scholarship was established in honor of the late Andrew “Sparky” Seever, a longtime supporter of the organization who believed deeply in expanding access to education. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded, with recipients selected based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.
Applications and additional information are available at mdff.org. The scholarship recipient will be announced later this summer.
