The Hamilton Southeastern girls basketball team put together an overwhelming win at Cathedral on Tuesday.
The Class 4A No. 2 Royals beat the Irish 65-31. Southeastern had a fantastic defensive effort in the first quarter, shutting out Cathedral 18-0. The Royals then led 31-4 at halftime.
Maya Makalusky scored 27 points, while Abigaile Brown hit three 3-pointers on her way to 11 points. Zoe Lawless collected eight rebounds and dished out four assists. Kayla Stidham had five steals and four assists, with Kennedy Holman making four steals.
Southeastern is 12-1 and is off until next Thursday, Dec. 28, when it begins play at the Paul Loggan Memorial Invitational at North Central. The Royals take on Decatur Central at 10 a.m. Southeastern plays the host Panthers the next day (Dec. 29) at 5 p.m.
