‘Rocks fall to Northwestern

Westfield ran into Class 4A No. 2 Northwestern in the first round of the Subway/Columbus North Invitational on Friday, and fell to the Tigers 67-40.
Northwestern led 23-11 after the first quarter and 31-14 at halftime. The Tigers then outscored the Shamrocks 19-7 in the third period.
Jessica Castor led the Westfield scoring with 15 points. Alyssa Crockett and Olivia Robey both pulled five rebounds, while Ashtin DeCraene dished out four assists.
The ‘Rocks are 8-6 for the season. They play Jeffersonville at 10 a.m. today in a consolation game, then play a placement game later this afternoon.
