Westfield Youth Assistance Program (WYAP) has announced its second annual walk/run, “The Double,” which will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at Cool Creek Park, 2000 E. 151st St.

“The Double” is a two-mile family-friendly walk/run, with the name referring to both the two-mile closed-loop course and WYAP’s desire to double its impact in Westfield. Overall, “The Double” aims to be a vibrant event that brings together residents of Hamilton County and Westfield to support WYAP. “The Double” is expected to have more than 200 participants and will feature a bounce house for the first time this year.

“This is our second year hosting ‘The Double,’ and we’re proud to see it becoming a tradition that brings the Westfield community together,” explained Dan Morrow, WYAP Board Member and “The Double” Committee Chair. “It’s a simple event with a big purpose: raising critical funds to support the youth and families we serve every day through mentoring, tutoring, and early intervention.”

Registration is now open online, with special early-bird pricing of $30 per individual through July 20. The competitive division was eliminated this year; however, registrants can choose the pace they prefer for the course. Registering families can select ‘Multi-Person Pricing’ to receive a discount on registrations for three to six people.

Proceeds from “The Double” will help support WYAP’s services, including mentoring, tutoring, mental health supports, camps, and other enrichment activities. There has been a drastic increase in need as Westfield continues to expand rapidly. “The Double” is a great way to help continue to meet this growing need and is a phenomenal opportunity to connect with the community.
