Dear Editor:
The referendum matters to me because it affects my experience as a student at Noblesville High School and the opportunities I have to succeed.
As a sophomore, I take several dual-credit classes because I want to challenge myself academically and also prepare for colleges.
I believe students should have access to the resources, teachers, and support they need to reach their full potential. Having a strong education now will make a difference in the opportunities we all have in the future. The loss of a mass number of classes could cause a detrimental change in student opportunities.
For taxes to only raise by $12 a year, students in elementary will have the same experience we had growing up. If the referendum doesn’t pass, many enjoyable, creative classes will be closed, leading to an unfair experience for the younger generation.
Now we can either vote against the referendum to save a few bucks, or watch as those still growing up gain a future and an abundance of opportunities.
