Noblesville reader: County’s GOP voters “are in a pickle” regarding Treasurer’s race

Dear Editor:

Fellow Republicans, we are in a pickle. Our nominee for Treasurer, Susan Byer, was fired from the Treasurer’s office in 2018 for “Unlawful or negligent handling of public monies” and “Falsifying or destroying any County records.”

She has not worked since her firing, has no experience in management or investing.

Also, as some sort of misguided comeuppance, she will not retain the only two people in the office that do have that experience – former Treasurers Kim Good and Jennifer Templeton, both longtime employees and volunteers for the Republican Party. A third employee, another longtime volunteer for the party who recently won an award for her efforts, is on the outs as well.

While satisfying Byer’s taste for revenge, taxpayers will suffer incompetence as Byer and her replacements try to figure out how to manage an 800 million-dollar tax-collection agency.

Oddly enough, or perhaps perfectly fitting for the year 2020, it is the Democratic candidate, Jake Madore, who will retain those three Republican employees, thus ensuring the level of excellence we’ve come to expect.

So, it’s either vote straight ticket, including for our flawed candidate who will not keep those experienced Republicans, or vote for the Democratic candidate, who, oddly enough, will retain them.

  1. We all know Mandy is a truthful person! NOT !!!! As the sister of Kim she will tell the same stories that Kim’s husband Bryan Good tells. God help us all if this regime continues for the next 4 years. The taxpayers of the county will be the next victims. For a Better and open office for all Vote for Republican Susan Byer! She cares about our taxpayers! Thank you!

  2. Not in a pickle at all. Susan Byer has our support for Hamilton County Treasurer. She’s not a flawed candidate, she’s the best qualified candidate. The smears she has had to put up from a very few, yet persistent, group of 3 or 4 people is disgusting and concerning in it’s relentlessness.
