Noblesville firefighters save home from garage blaze

Just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, the Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) responded to a residence fire at 6629 Rushing River.

The first crews to arrive reported smoke coming from the garage. Firefighters were able to make an aggressive interior attack and quickly extinguish the garage fire.

The fire was discovered by the homeowner who attempted to locate a fire extinguisher. When his attempts were unsuccessful, he exited the home and called 911.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Fire damage was limited to the garage and laundry room. The fire has been ruled accidental after an on-scene investigation.

NFD was assisted by the Noblesville Police Department. NFD reminds residents to have a functioning fire extinguisher available in their homes.
