Noblesville Elks Lodge #576
The Noblesville Elks #576 held their 39th annual Golf Outing to Support Cancer Research on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Fox Prairie Golf Course. A total of 148 golfers filled the course, ready to start the day at 8 a.m.
The Elks Golf Committee worked months putting this event together under the leadership of Steve Vallier, PER, District President, and Jerry Wides, ER. Last year’s efforts raised nearly $38,000 for cancer research.
Registration for the outing opened on May 4, and golfers were lined up to be part of this event when the doors opened. Each team must have at least one Elk member on the team.

Money raised by this event supports Indiana University and Purdue University Cancer Research. Representatives from each were in attendance to kick off the outing and thank the Elks for their continued support.
Purdue University was represented by Brant Patz, Executive Director of Development for Purdue University Institute for Cancer Research, and Mitchell Gauger, Senior Development Officer for PICR and One Health Initiative.
Indiana University was represented by Zainul S. Hasanali, MD, PhD, the Daniel and Lori Efroymson Scholar in Oncology, and Lauren Stlutsman, Assistant Director of Development at the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Funds raised at the outing go toward the Indiana Elks Endowment, which supports cancer research.
Following 18 holes of golf and fun, players returned to the Elks Lodge for lunch, sponsored by Gaylor Electric.

Community Bank of Indiana was the proud Title Sponsor of the Elks outing. In addition, more than 50 local businesses participated as Hole Sponsors, Beverage Cart Sponsors, and Silent Auction donors.
Silent Auction bidding is open to the public, and items can be viewed at 32auctions.com/Elks576. The auction will conclude at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.
All funds raised help fight cancer research. You are required to create an account with 32auctions, but if you want notifications via text or email when you are outbid, you will need an account. The Elks will not collect any funds online. All auctions will be settled at the Lodge itself and must be paid within seven days of the end of the auction.
Any questions about items please reach out to Jesse Shawver (jesse.shawver@gmail.com) or Nick Hammond (nickthammond@yahoo.com).
This event is made even better each year by the volunteers and sponsors. Thank you to all who support our efforts to fight cancer through Indiana University and Purdue University cancer research.
