To better prepare for the challenges in providing emergency care to pediatric patients, the Noblesville Fire Department EMS Division has named Nate Young the new Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator in addition to his current role as Community Resource Paramedic.
“The position of Pediatric Care Coordinator is designed to be an advocate for the pediatric patient population and will ensure that the Noblesville Fire Department is up to date and compliant with Emergency Medical Services for Children,” said EMS Division Chief James Macky.
Responsibilities will include reviewing pediatric equipment and protocols, auditing pediatric care records, and training EMTs and paramedics in responding to pediatric emergencies. Nate Young is an eight-year veteran of NFD, will assume this role along with his responsibilities as a Community Resource Paramedic.
“I am excited about my new position as the Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator,” Young said. “Pediatric emergency medical care has always been a professional passion of mine and I look forward to serving the citizens of Noblesville in this new role.”
As a Riley Hospital parent, Nate has a vested interest in medical care for children and understands the challenges for parents and EMS providers.
