Naomi Bechtold, a Carmel resident and member of the Democratic Party, has announced she is running for Indiana House of Representatives District 24. The district covers western Carmel, Zionsville and parts of Westfield and Whitestown.

Bechtold, a second-time candidate for House District 24, received 42 percent of the vote in 2018.

“A lot has happened since 2018, both nationally and in our state,” said Bechtold. “The current supermajority’s focus on a far-right social agenda versus issues that impact the everyday lives of Hoosiers is unacceptable.”

Bechtold’s message is simple: “I’m running in 2020 because it’s clear our State House legislators’ current politics do not reflect everyday Hoosier values.” Her plan is focused on:

  • Competitive pay for public school teachers
  • Better, cheaper healthcare options
  • Fair and safe elections
  • The highest standard of clean air and water

“I want people to know there is someone who actually has the energy and stamina to go the distance against the incumbent,” Bechtold said. “I am a leader, independent thinker, collaborator and problem solver with the experience required to fight for the issues that truly matter to Hoosiers in District 24 and across the state of Indiana.”

Attendees are welcome to bring additional guests to the event.
