June 10, 1940 – September 11, 2025
Nancy Ann Hartley (Correll) passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, in Fishers.
Born on June 10, 1940, she was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County and the daughter of James and Velma Correll of Arcadia. On November 26, 1961, Nancy married Ralph Lee Hartley, and together they shared 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2014.
Nancy lived a life centered on family, faith, and community. A lifelong member of Arcadia Church of the Brethren, she was active there for more than 60 years, devoting her time to service and fellowship. She was a loving mother who dedicated herself to raising her four children with care, encouragement, and strong Christian values. Her home was always a place of warmth and activity, and she spent countless hours volunteering at school, serving as a classroom parent, and supporting her children in sports, music, drama, Girl Scouts, and other activities. Wherever her children were, Nancy was close by, cheering them on with love and pride.
Gifted with remarkable artistic ability, Nancy spent more than four decades decorating beautiful, prize-worthy cakes. She also hand-painted Bundy Duck Decoys for over 30 years, each piece crafted with attention to detail and patience. Her talents touched many lives and left a lasting creative legacy.
In addition to her work at home, Nancy held several jobs throughout her life. She served as a secretary at AUL in Indianapolis and later at Nations Title, and for a time worked as a church secretary at Cicero United Methodist Church. For many summers, she also served as a camp counselor at Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Ind., where her love for children and faith shone brightly.
Nancy is survived by her children, Beth (Michael) Deming, Kerri Young, Arika (Seth) Estep, and Devin (Hollie) Hartley; her brother, David Correll; grandchildren, Beth Young, Spencer Young, Calvin Deming, Gabriel Young, Max Deming, Miles Deming, Aubree Young, Aleis Whaley, Angel Whaley, Corbin Estep, and Emmett Estep; and great-granddaughters, Astra, Davina, and Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, and her grandson Cameron Young.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2025, at Arcadia Church of the Brethren, 8989 E. 266th St., Arcadia. A memorial service will follow the visitation starting at 4 p.m., with Pastor Ben Poole officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Xia-Gibbs Society, Inc., in support of research and programs for individuals with Xia-Gibbs Syndrome, including Nancy’s beloved grandson, Emmett.
Nancy’s care has been entrusted to Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home, Cicero.
