Millers beat Bearcats

Noblesville continued its three-game road swing Saturday with a 66-46 win at Muncie Central.
The Bearcats led 13-10 after the first quarter, but the Millers took control in the second period, outscoring Muncie 19-6 for a 29-19 halftime lead. Five different players scored for Noblesville in that second quarter, with Cooper Bean and Luke Almodovar both adding five points. Aaron Fine scored seven points in the first period, and he made a 3-pointer in the second for 10 first-half points.
Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter before Noblesville pulled away in the fourth with 23 points. Preston Roberts had seven, including a 5-of-6 effort from the free-throw line.
“Nice second quarter,” said McClelland. “Fourth quarter wasn’t too bad, either. Good road win for us.”
Four Millers finished in double figures. Fine led with 15 points, followed by Roberts with 14, Bean with 12 and Almodovar with 11. All eight players that took to the floor for Noblesville scored.
“Twenty-point road wins, we’ll take them all the time,” said McClelland.
The Millers are 5-5 and return to Hoosier Crossroads Conference play Friday with a game at Zionsville.
