Meals on Wheels Hamilton County welcomes Chisum Gardner as new operations director

Gardner

Meals on Wheels Hamilton County (MOWHC) recently named Chisum Gardner as its new operations director. He joins the organization’s leadership team as MOWHC continues to strengthen its operations in support of serving older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout Hamilton County.

As operations director, Gardner oversees the daily operations that ensure nutritious meals are delivered efficiently and reliably throughout the community. He also works closely with clients, volunteers, and staff to coordinate meal delivery and support the organization’s mission.

“Providing dependable service begins with strong operations,” MOWHC Executive Director Tricia Hudson said. “Chisum’s background in compassionate care, program management, and relationship-building make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team. His commitment to serving others will help us continue providing reliable, high-quality service to the neighbors who count on us every day.”

Gardner brings nearly a decade of nonprofit experience, where he developed therapeutic programs for children and adults with physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles focused on improving lives through meaningful connections and compassionate service.

“The people are my favorite part of this work,” Gardner said. “Whether in my previous career or my current role, I’ve always been passionate about helping others. It’s rewarding to be part of a team that genuinely cares about our clients and works together every day to make a positive impact in the community.”

Gardner earned a bachelor’s degree in equine science from Utah State University. Originally from Wallsburg, Utah, he now lives in Westfield with his wife of 14 years and their four daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, supporting his daughters’ activities and sports, and making the most of every opportunity to be together.

“Chisum’s experience reflects the heart of our mission,” Hudson said. “He understands that every successful meal delivery represents much more than food. It represents connection, independence and the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone cares.”

Meals on Wheels Hamilton County serves older adults and individuals with disabilities facing food insecurity or unable to prepare meals for themselves, supporting both short- and long-term needs with dignity, reliability, and care. Through nutritious meal delivery, wellness checks and compassionate connections, the organization helps residents maintain their independence while remaining connected to the community they call home.
