HWC Engineering, an Indiana-based civil engineering firm, announced this month the promotions of four key leaders: Cory Whitesell and Luke Jahn as Vice Presidents, and Catherine Puckett and Chad James as Directors.

These promotions will strengthen the firm’s ability to better serve Indiana communities with added support and oversight.

“With these individuals’ strong track record of leadership and community success, it is evident that Cory, Luke, Catherine, and Chad are leaders who understand all the facets of our business,” HWC Chairman and CEO Terry Baker said.

Whitesell will now serve as Vice President, overseeing the Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Community Development Groups after previously serving as Director. With more than 30 years at HWC, Whitesell has led efforts in comprehensive planning, funding strategies, ordinance updates, park master plans, and numerous other projects for communities throughout the State.

Jahn will also serve as Vice President, overseeing the Survey Group, after previously serving as Director. Jahn spearheaded the Survey Department 10 years ago at HWC and has since grown the group into one of the largest survey teams in Indiana, utilizing innovative technology such as LiDAR to enhance the understanding of a project’s scope.

Puckett, who previously served as the Studio Lead for HWC’s Landscape Architecture Group, will assume the role of Director. With more than 20 years of experience, she has become an instrumental and influential Landscape Architect in the industry. One of her most recent projects includes the award-winning City of New Albany, River Recreation Site: Boat Ramp project.

Finally, James, who has 12 years of experience and previously served as the Land Development Team Lead, will now serve as Director, overseeing Land Development. James has successfully led several development projects, including single-family residential, mixed-use, and industrial projects throughout the State, earning an impressive reputation with both clients and colleagues.

“Our team of professionals and leadership aims to enhance our services through their commitment to each other while consistently producing the highest quality of work,” HWC President Josh Peters said.

HWC has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce for 10 consecutive years, signed the largest infrastructure design contract in the firm’s 35-year history, and is annually ranked by the IBJ as one of the State’s Largest Engineering Companies – most recently, ranking as the fifth-largest firm.
