Huskies top Western, remain perfect in conference

Hamilton Heights kept its perfect Hoosier Conference East record intact on Friday, sailing past Western 61-36 in a road game.
The Huskies led 13-8 after the first quarter, with Caleb Bean scoring six points. Heights then took a 32-17 lead at halftime, making four 3-pointers in the second period. Freshman Gus Etchison had one of those 3s, part of his seven points in the quarter.
The Huskies kept their long-range shots falling in the third period, with Camron Knott hitting a pair of 3s. Heights totaled four for the quarter, and wound up with 10 overall on its way to the win.
Etchison scored 11 points to lead the Heights scoring, while Michael Cross and Knott each added nine. Tyler Wiltermood grabbed seven rebounds, with AJ Field corralling six and Etchison getting five. Etchison also handed out five assists, with Hudson Hochstedler dishing out four.
Bean finished with eight points, while Max Beale had seven points, three rebounds and two assists.
The Huskies are 2-0 in the Hoosier Conference’s East division, which ties them with Tipton for first place. Overall, Heights is now 3-4. The Huskies host Noblesville tonight.
