Herb Miller home plays host to Carmel Republican pork roast

The Carmel GOP Pork Roast will be held Thursday, Sept. 21 on the grounds of the Herb Miller home, 11300 Haverstick Road. Open to all, the event is sponsored by the Carmel Clay Republican Club with candidates for county sheriff in next spring’s primary as special guests.

The outdoor, buffet-style dinner of pork chops, baked beans, salad, dessert and drinks will be served about 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10. “But, socializing with friends and community leaders is the important aspect of the evening,” says club president Matt Snyder.

“You don’t have to be a club member or even a Republican to attend,” added Snyder. Announced sheriff candidates thus far are Bill Clifford, Eddie Moore, Mitch Russell and Jason Sloderbeck. The race for the nomination is expected to be the headline attraction of the upcoming primary.
