Independent Indiana Secretary of State Candidate Greg Ballard announced Tuesday, June 23, that his campaign has now submitted at least 64,183 petition signatures to county clerks. By law, he needs to have 36,943 signatures from registered voters verified by clerks to have his name placed on the ballot.
“We are sprinting to the end of the month when all signatures must be turned into the counties,” Ballard said. “I’m still getting requests from Hoosiers asking, ‘Where can I sign?’”
The Ballard campaign will give Hoosiers around the state a chance to show their support for the former Indianapolis Mayor on Signature Saturday this coming weekend. The campaign will have volunteers at numerous locations around the state that voters can visit to sign petitions. A full list of times and locations will be available later this week. Anyone interested in hosting a location should email info@gregballard.com.
Verified signatures from the clerks will be turned back over to the campaign to be officially filed with the State in July.
