Girls track: Six runners set new records

Six new records were set at Wednesday’s Hamilton County girls track and field meet.

The first new mark came in the 4×800 relay, where the Hamilton Southeastern team of Maggie Powers, Elise Herman, Elizabeth Butler and Anissa Lammie finished that race in 9 minutes, 6.85 seconds. Lammie would later set a new record in the 800 run, clocking in at 2:12.25. Another Southeastern runner, Ciara Kepner, set a new mark in the 400 dash with her time of 56.91 seconds.

Noblesville’s Hannah Alexander established new records in both of the throwing events. Alexander won the shot put with a best throw of 47 feet, 1 inch, then set a new discus record with a distance of 163 feet, 10 inches.

Westfield’s Lucy Hauser set a new mark in the 300 hurdles. She won that race in 44.23 seconds.
