WESTFIELD – The Noblesville girls basketball team won an all-county and Hoosier Crossroads Conference game last Saturday 41-30 at Westfield’s CSI Gymnasium.

The Shamrocks led 13-7 after the first quarter, with Lindsey Van Dyke and Sam Price both scoring four points. The Millers came back to tie the game at 18-18 by halftime; C.C. Quigley helped Noblesville with five points.

The third quarter began with a 6-0 run by the Millers, who never trailed after that. Meredith Tippner scored two baskets, then Quigley added another two points. A 3-pointer from Aubrey Crockett stopped the run, and the teams traded baskets until the end of the quarter; a Quigley jumper gave Noblesville a 30-26 lead.

The Millers’ Reagan Wilson took over in the fourth quarter, scoring all 11 of Noblesville’s points. She began with a 3, then went 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, the Millers’ defense held Westfield to four points in the period.

“We were everywhere,” said Noblesville coach Donna Buckley. “Right up to the end, Tipp’s blocking a shot, a steal there at the end. Defensively we were really good.”

Wilson and Quigley both finished with 14 points; Quigley’s 11 rebounds gave her a double-double. Tippner had six rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Wilson also made four steals.

Ellie Kelleher and Price both scored eight points. Crockett had seven rebounds, while Kelleher pulled six rebounds. Price blocked two shots.

“We missed some open looks, we also had some turnovers,” said Shamrocks coach Kelsey Steele. “They sped us up a little bit.”

Noblesville is 2-2 in HCC play and 7-5 overall. The Millers will compete in the Limestone Classic Friday at Bedford North Lawrence. Westfield is also 2-2 in the conference and 8-3 overall. The ‘Rocks play another HCC contest Tuesday at Franklin Central, then travel to the Trine University Classic this weekend.
