Guerin Catholic dropped an afternoon game to Class 4A No. 8 North Central 76-64 Saturday at the Eagles Nest.
The Panthers led 19-14 after one quarter and 39-28 at halftime. Will Grissom had a solid first half, scoring eight points. Robert Sorensen helped keep Guerin Catholic within a reasonable distance, scoring 11 points in the third quarter, including three 3-pointers. North Central held a 58-46 lead after the third period; both teams scored 18 points in the fourth.
Sorensen led GC with 16 points, totaling four 3s. Jack Cherry scored 12 points, including six in the fourth quarter. Lucas Parker added 10 points.
The Golden Eagles are 10-8 and host New Palestine on Monday.
