The Carmel and Fishers football teams have played each other seven times in the post-season over the past several years.
When the 2025 campaign begins, the Greyhounds and the Tigers will be playing each other for the first time in the regular season.
Carmel travels to Fishers for Week 1 of the Indiana high school football season, which begins on Friday, Aug. 22. It’s one of two changes for the Greyhounds this season. Carmel will host Columbus North on Week 5, with the Bull Dogs replacing Brebeuf Jesuit.
As for the Tigers, this will be the first change to their schedule since 2018. Carmel isn’t the only new opponent for Fishers: the Tigers play their Week 2 game at Lawrence North. The Greyhounds and the Wildcats replace longtime opening opponents North Central (Week 1) and Pike (Week 2), while Fishers’ Hoosier Crossroads Conference schedule stays unchanged.
Hamilton Heights and Westfield both have one change to their respective schedules. The Shamrocks now play Homestead for their opener, replacing Center Grove, while the Huskies have replaced McCutcheon with Tippecanoe Valley for their Week 3 opponent.
Guerin Catholic also has two new opponents on its schedule in 2025. The Golden Eagles are hosting Pendleton Heights for their Week 2 contest, replacing Lebanon. In Week 8, Guerin Catholic hosts Culver Academies, with Culver replacing Terre Haute North.
McCutcheon and Lebanon have rearranged their schedules due to conference changes: the Mavericks are joining the Sagamore Conference after the departure of five schools from that league. The Sagamore now consists of four schools – McCutcheon, Lebanon Harrison and Danville – with Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South joining the league starting in the 2026-27 school year.
Those five former Sagamore schools – Crawfordsville, Frankfort, North Montgomery, Southmont and Western Boone – have joined Cascade, Greencastle and North Putnam to form the new Monon Conference. Those schools had extensive changes to their football schedules as well.
One of those changes led to the end of a decades-long rivalry game. Sheridan had played WeBo to begin its season since 1997, but that series is in the history books for now. Instead, the Blackhawks will travel to Greenwood Christian to begin their season. Sheridan has another change for Week 2, replacing North Miami with Alexandria.
Hamilton Southeastern and Noblesville had no changes to their schedules from last season.
