Conner Prairie is proud to partner with other local museums to make family fun available to more Indiana families. Families that participate in any of the state assistance programs, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, food stamps or Hoosier Healthwise Insurance, can visit for just $2 per family member per visit. Aides enjoy complimentary admission with employee ID or proof of employment.

Military Admission Relief

Conner Prairie offers admission relief to the military by providing free daytime general admission to active-duty, retired and veteran military members and 50 percent off the general admission price for up to five immediate family members. Military ID is required. This discount is valid only for daytime general admission.

Prairie Tots

This 45-minute program for 2-year-olds and their parents or grandparents is filled with fun that includes crafts, singing and other activities perfect for toddlers. Children must be accompanied by an adult at no charge.

Prairie Tykes

Parents and grandparents: Connect one-on-one with your little ones (ages 3 to 6) while you make crafts, dance, sing and take part in the special activity of the day. Younger siblings are welcome; ages 2+ require a ticket. Children must be accompanied by an adult at no charge.

Prairie Plates

This unique foodie experience for adults celebrates the farm-to-table food and craft drink movement, featuring the region’s top chefs and gourmet artisans with dining experiences throughout Conner Prairie’s grounds.

Prairie Tykes: Merry March Music

9:30 to 11 a.m. March 8, 9

$12 child, $11 member

Ages 3 to 6; children must be accompanied by an adult at no charge. Younger siblings are welcome. Ages 2 and older require a ticket. Join the parade with an instrument you made from scratch. Then have fun viewing a historic instrument and singing together. Reservations are required. Register online at connerprairie.org or by calling 317-776-6000.

Prairie Tots: EGGscellent Adventure

9:30 to 10:15 a.m., 11 to 11:45 a.m. March 16

$6 youth, $5 member

Fun at the Potter’s Wheel

9:30 a.m. to Noon March 17

$55 non-member, $50 member

Ages 14 and older

This class will introduce you to wheel-thrown pottery. No experience is necessary so don’t be shy about signing up. All materials and supplies will be provided. You’ll want to bring an apron and old towel for clean-up. Your pottery pieces will be fired, glazed and ready for pick-up by April 14. Reservations are required. Simple Bench

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 17

$95 non-member, $85 member

Ages 14 and older

Sometimes a simple project has a lot to teach. Make a simple bench that would look nice on a deck, entryway or mudroom. Using common pine lumber learn how to smooth and chamfer with hand planes, cut dado joints with saw, chisel and mallet, drill and saw. A finished bench will be completed in class and ready for you to take home to stain or paint as desired. All tools and materials provided. Reservations are required. Prairie Tykes: EGGscellent Adventure

Tykes can let their artistic talents shine as they decorate their own basket and hunt for eggs to fill it up. Reservations are required. Introduction to Lathe Turning

8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 24

$125 non-member, $115 member

Ages 16 and older

Lathe turning is a fun and satisfying way of working wood that ranges from very practical to very artistic. This class introduces the basic concepts of turning such as: tool selection and sharpening, selecting and preparing stock, introducing fundamental techniques, parting, cutting concave and convex shapes and burnishing. Participants have opportunity to work on projects such as a mallet, tool handle and simple candlestick. All materials are provided. Build a Birdhouse

6 to 7:30 p.m. March 24

$35 non-member, $30 member

Ages 10 and older with an adult

Get ready for spring by building your feathered friends a birdhouse. The house will be designed for attracting common songbirds such as a bluebird, wren or nuthatch. Registration fee includes all materials for one birdhouse and registration for one adult and one child to work together on the project. Reservations are required. First Day of the Outdoor Season

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 27

Shake off the winter blues and welcome spring as we open our outdoor grounds March 27. Get up close to our new baby animals at Animal Encounters, meet 1836 Prairietown residents and help with spring cleaning and garden preparation. Climb to the top of the four-story Treetop Outpost, enlist in the Army to defend the home front at 1863 Civil War Journey or take a tethered balloon ride at 1859 Balloon Voyage.

Breakfast Buffet with the Easter Bunny

Seating at 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 31

Celebrate Easter with a scrumptious breakfast, cookie decorating and a visit with the Easter Bunny. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., head outdoors and explore the grounds and other Easter activities. Non-members can save $3 per person on the price of admission to Conner Prairie’s grounds by showing your breakfast buffet ticket. Members can access the grounds for free. Reservations are required. Easter on the Prairie

Free with general admission

Bring a basket and hop over to our afternoon Easter egg hunts. They’re divided by age group, so everyone has a fair shot at some treats. After your basket is full, roam around 1836 Prairietown to discover how people prepared for spring in the 19th century, make a special visit to Animal Encounters to see the new baby animals or have some fun with science and shooting Peeps out of a cannon.
