The Cicero Police Department congratulates Captain Don Nygaard on his retirement.
Nygaard served the community of Cicero for more than 25 years as an Officer, Sergeant, and Captain to the Department from Aug. 31, 1998, through March 25, 2024. In addition, he served the Department in the Property Room, Quartermaster, Ordinance Enforcement, as well as many other duties, including a Reserve Officer from Oct. 9, 1990, to Aug. 31, 1998.
Prior to his time with the Cicero Police Department, Nygaard was employed at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department as a Corrections Officer.
