Cashier fends off robbers at Carmel gas station Tuesday

At approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday, the Carmel Police Department received a report of an armed robbery at the Village Pantry at 9601 N. College Ave.

Officers learned that two suspects entered the business and attempted to rob it by holding the cashier at gunpoint. The cashier shot at the suspects. Both suspects fled the business on foot with an undetermined amount of cash and merchandise. The cashier was not injured in the incident.

At the time of this release, this investigation is active and ongoing. Any additional information will be released as soon as possible.
