Carmel Police go primitive for No Shave November

Officers and employees of the Carmel Police Department (CPD) are once again joining together to raise awareness about cancer and gather donations during the month of November. This will be the fourth year that the CPD has participated in “No Shave November.” All donations will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Chief Jim Barlow is relaxing the department’s grooming standards regarding facial hair for employees who make monetary donations. Family, friends and members of the community are also welcome to donate. Please consider supporting your favorite officer or squad.

This year’s fundraising goal is $6,000. Donations can be made online via the CrowdRise website or by dropping off cash or a check made out to “Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” at the CPD headquarters, 3 Civic Square, Carmel. Please note there is a $10 minimum donation for online transactions.

Integrity Automotive has offered to donate $5 from every oil change during the month November to CPD’s No Shave November campaign. Please visit them at 40 S. Range Line Road from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting integrityautomotive.net or by calling (317) 573-0107.

The fundraising campaign will conclude with The Great Shave Off event at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1 at Main Street Barber, 41 W. Main St., Carmel.
