Carroll Franklin “Frank” Perkins, 85, Perkinsville, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Richard Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
He was born on June 18, 1940, in Noblesville to Carroll Erbin and Martha Lou (Wells) Perkins. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy where he was a cook. He earned his associate’s degree in general contracting, electrical, and plumbing. He retired after 45 years as a truck driver.
He was a lifetime member of the Ralph Lehr VFW Post #6246 in Noblesville. He was the former president of the Madison County Equestrian Club and former commodore at the Yacht Club in Pensacola, Fla.
He enjoyed camping and loved spending time with his family.
Frank is survived by his wife, whom he married on July 1, 1983, Karen Sue (Busby) Perkins; nine children, Carol (husband, John) Wells, Sue (husband, Bob) Baldwin, Cindy (husband, Jeff) Lawson, Jeanie Michele Leons, Jennifer (husband, Kelly) Partington, Debbie Vail, Anita Simon, Doug Rhodes, and Scott Rhodes; 12 grandchildren, Chris (wife, Chelsea) Wells, Jacob Wells, Matthew (wife, Ashley) Fugate, Megan Fugate, T.J. (wife, Alex) Perkins, Noah Lawson, Chelsea (husband, Levi) Haymaker, Tiffany Leons, Bailey (wife, Tayla) Partington, Dalton (wife, Eve) Partington, Jeanina (husband, Matthew) Boone and Jason Vail; three brothers, Steve (wife, Dottie) Perkins, Larry (wife, Kitty) Perkins, and Greg (wife, Rhonda) Perkins; two sisters, Pam Darling and Debbie (husband, Larry) Swinford; two brothers-in-law, Richard Collins and Joes (wife, Sharon) Busby; great-grandchildren, Zachariah Wells, Malea Fugate, Malik Fugate, Brynleigh Fugate, Noah Fugate, Aurora Haymaker, Kyla Lawson, Leia Serna, Lilli Serna, Dreydin Serna, Celena Leons, Hieremias Leons, Gabrielle (husband, Skyler) Marcum, Adrian Mann, Elouise Partington, Demetruis Boone, Marcus Boone, Kyle Vail, Keeley Vail, Lucas Vail, Zoe Perkins, Aubrey Perkins, and Newt Perkins; and great-great-grandchildren, Nova Marcum and one in the oven.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas “Jipper” Perkins; his parents; two brothers, Brian Perkins and Richard Perkins; and a brother-in-law, Paul Darling.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, with Rev. Gary Cable officiating at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel. Burial will follow the funeral service at East Maplewood Cemetery with military rites conducted by the United States Navy assisted by the Ralph Lehr VFW Post #6246.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
