The Carmel Fire Department recently held its annual Firefighter For A Day Camp (FF4DC). Since its inception in 2013, FF4DC has become a beloved summer tradition in our community, with registration filling up in less than an hour each year.

Since moving to the Dads’ Club Aletto Fieldhouse in 2023, the camp has found an ideal home. Throughout the day, campers rotate through six interactive stations where firefighters, Hamilton County dispatchers and volunteers teach them about fire safety, emergency response and the physical demands of the job. Through hands on activities, the children get a firsthand look at the strength, teamwork, and endurance required to serve as a firefighter – all while having fun alongside the men and women who protect our community.

Campers also enjoy an equipment parade, partake in a tasty lunch before wrapping up the event with an exciting waterball tournament that ends the day with plenty of friendly competition and laughter.

The camp remains free for all participants thanks to the generous support of Carmel Clay Township and our food sponsors: Chick-Fil-A, Market District, and Texas Roadhouse.

A special thank you goes to the many volunteers who help make this event possible. We truly couldn’t do it without their dedication, support, and enthusiasm.
