Carl Kirkwood “Kirk” Cochran

Carl Kirkwood “Kirk” Cochran, 73, Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born to the late Harlan and Julia (Gard) Cochran in Harrisonville, Mo.

Kirk proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a bus driver for over 35 years and also was a teacher and dairy farmer. Kirk was a man of faith who was active in his church and a pillar in the community. He enjoyed farming, raising Jersey dairy cows, reading, and singing. Kirk was a natural teacher, and everyone who had the privilege of meeting him came away wiser from the experience. He also expressed his love by cooking for others. Kirk had a big personality, loved life, and never let anyone remain a stranger. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Kirk is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Cochran; children, Kelly (Rick) Shields, Michael (Elizabeth) Cochran, Kyle (Rachel) Cochran, and Katie (Matt) Hendricks; grandchildren, Kris, Leah, Katelyn, Luke, Caleb, Elliott, Paul, Charlotte, and Blake; and his siblings, Clint (Donna) Cochran, Susan (Jack) Schill, and Chad (Jessica) Cochran.

A celebration of life event will be held at a later date. Randall & Roberts Funeral Home has been entrusted with Kirk’s care.

    Kirk was my bus driver through middle and high school. He also drove us for multiple extracurricular activities. He was an awesome person. Grew up with some of his kids. He will be missed. My condolences.
