Breath of fresh air in Westfield

Amidst all the hustle and bustle on Main Street in Westfield, there is now an oasis of calm – Scented Oasis Candle Co., to be exact.

Kayla Gaines-Talbott has been pouring candles for a couple of years.

“For the longest time, I operated my business from home,” Gaines-Talbots said, “navigating the challenge of limited space and managing numerous orders.”

As of her official grand opening Saturday, April 20, Scented Oasis Candle Co. has opened a storefront at 110 E. Main St. The entrance sits between The Wine Vault to the west and Dance Innovations to the east, and the shop is situated on the second floor.

A light, fresh aroma greets patrons, who will find shelves neatly lined with candles, like Black Sea and Love Spell, plus mattress sprays, wax melts, and more fragrant finds. The shop also features goods from other area vendors such as S&L crafts, CUREageous Aromas, and A Couple Kids Family Farm.

“Transitioning to have my own shop marks an incredible milestone for me,” Gaines-Talbott said.

A location dedicated to Scented Oasis means that Gaines-Talbott now has the space to host the personalized candle pouring classes for which she has become known throughout the community.

Scented Oasis Candle Co. is open noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

A wide variety of classes can be booked in advance for Mondays through Fridays, such as the upcoming Mother’s Day mom-and-child classes which cost $50 for one mother and one child and $7 for each additional child. Reach out at (317) 610-9404 for more information.
