Hamilton Southeastern came back to win an all-county game with Carmel on Monday 3-2 at the Royals’ Ken Seitz Field.
The Greyhounds scored both of their runs in the second inning. Jalen Brown got the first run on an error, then Gabe Mathison scored the second run, with Evan Vogt’s left field single sending him home.
The score stayed 2-0 until the bottom of the seventh inning. The Royals’ lead off batter Jackson Bixler was hit by a pitch to begin tat inning. Bixler moved to second base when Clark Bucher reached on an error. Parker O’Steen hit a single to load the bases, and Adam Wolf came in to run for him.
Michael Hoog drew a walk, which sent Bixler home for HSE’s first run. Colin Kendrick came up next and his left field hit drove in Bucher and Wolf for the walk-off win.
Kendrick was 2-for-3 at the plate. Starter Dylan Cope pitched six innings, then Nate McGrath threw the seventh inning and got the win, getting three strikeouts in that inning. Anthony Back hit a double for the ‘Hounds, while Callaway Carmichael struck out four in six innings.
Southeastern is 4-5 and travels to Zionsville on Thursday to begin a Hoosier Crossroads Conference series. Carmel is 3-4 and plays Thursday at Lawrence North.

Sheridan cruised past Bethesda Christian 13-4 on Tuesday for its first win of the season.
The Blackhawks scored two runs in the first inning. Braelan Bochner got the first run, then Jack Oland scored on a wild pitch. Dayne Voege led off the third inning with a home run, with O’Land later scoring on a passed ball to give Sheridan a 4-0 lead.
The Patriot got their first run in the fourth inning, but the ‘Hawks responded with three runs in the fifth. Caleb Alexander scored on a wild pitch, Keegan Stout got home on a passed ball, then O’Land scored after Jacob Hall reached on an error.
Sheridan wrapped things up with six runs in the sixth inning. Bochner got home when Alexander reached on an error, then Braden Whisman smacked a right field double to score Voege and Alexander. Whisman got home on a wild pitch. O’Land doubled in Stout, then scored his fourth run of the game when Gavin Schwerdtfeger hit a sacrifice fly.
Schwerdtfeger went six innings for the win, striking out seven.
The Blackhawks are 1-4 and host Western Boone Thursday.

Fishers dropped a 5-3 game to Homestead Monday in an eight-inning game at Taylor University for its first loss of the season.
Both teams scored three runs in the second inning. The Tigers put up their runs in the bottom of the inning, with Trevor Hall hitting a one-out triple to start things off. Carter Strole singled in Hall, then Jase Ruggles tied the game with a right field home run. The score stayed 3-3 through the regulation seventh inning, but the Spartans scored two runs in the top of the eighth to get the win.
Austin Conley pitched five innings for Fishers, striking out five.
The Tigers are 7-1 and host Noblesville Thursday to start an HCC series.

Hamilton Heights fell to Western 3-2 in a Tuesday nine-inning away game that began Hoosier Conference play for the Huskies.
Heights scored both of its runs in the top of the fourth inning. Kaden Lawson scored the first run, then Josh Newton got home after Adam Hughes hit a sacrifice fly. The Panthers scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, tied the game with a home run in the sixth inning, then scored the winning run in the ninth inning.
P.J. Wright hit a double for the Huskies. Starting pitcher Nick Hulen went seven innings, striking out 13.
Heights is 2-3 and hosts Western this evening to complete the conference series.

University lost to Harrison 10-6 in a Tuesday away game.
Ryan Castetter hit a solo home run in the first inning, but the Raiders scored twice in the bottom of the inning. Harrison added a run in the third and five more in the fourth inning for an 8-1 lead.
The Trailblazers scored three runs in the fifth inning. Griffin Wright got home after Beckett Suh reached on an error, then Castetter and Oliver Kingery were batted in by Cooper Cammack’s line drive.
The Raiders scored twice in the sixth inning for a 10-4 lead. University got two more in the seventh: Castetter scored on an error, then Suh scored on a pitcher’s balk.
Cammack and Kingery both had two hits.
University is 3-5 and hosts Muncie Burris Thursday to begin Pioneer Conference play.
