Barbara Jean Carter

May 22, 1954 – August 7, 2025

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Barbara Jean Carter, 71, Noblesville, was met at Heaven’s gates by her daughter, April, her parents, Grandma & Grandpa Carter, Joyce & John, and many saints who loved her from the Nazarene Church. She was born on May 22, 1954, to Russell and Clara Bell (McGee) Pyke in Noblesville.

Barb graduated from Noblesville High School in 1972, and received a BA in teaching and music from Anderson University in 1976. She was a bus driver for special needs children for Noblesville Schools. Barb loved her special needs kids and loved helping all children. Barb loved Christian music and loved all of her family, including her four-legged animals.

She is survived by her son, Eric (Sarah) Carter; grandchildren, Lauren Carter, Steven Hahn, and Etta Carter; sister, Kathy (Charlie) Stevens; niece, Jennifer Stevens; nephew, Jonathan Stevens; and several beloved cousins and other family.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her daughter, April Kristine Carter.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m., with the funeral service at 6 p.m., on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Rev. Jim McGee will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at Gray Friends Cemetery in Noblesville.

Barb’s family would like to thank her oncology nurse, Kim, for all of her help during chemo treatments; her niece, Jen, who helped take care of Barb in the hospital; Barb’s cousins, Vickie & Diane, and Janet Leonard; and to all of her bus family for their love and support.
