Westfield Mayor Andy Cook announced Aptiv, a leading technology company enabling the future of mobility, plans to open an engineering lab in Westfield, bringing dozens of highly-skilled jobs to the area. Work in Aptiv’s engineering lab will focus on developing next-generation technology for connected vehicles.

Aptiv will bring 50 highly-skilled jobs to Westfield at an annual salary of approximately $80,000. The company will lease 53,000 square feet inside the Westfield Business Centre and invest more than $9 million in property and equipment. Work in the engineering lab will include environmental testing, product/material analysis and on-vehicle development. The Westfield City Council approved a five-year personal property tax abatement phased in at 20 percent a year.
With the addition of the Aptiv’s engineering lab, the Westfield Business Centre, a 133,000 square-foot spec building which opened in October 2018, is now fully leased. Other tenants in the Westfield Business Centre include Grinds LLC, ETI Fab and 3rd Dimension Industrial Printing.
