“It was one of those wins where we got them pretty good early in the season and thought we could match up pretty well,” said Carmel coach Josh Miller. “But having watched them play Zionsville on Wednesday night, we went back to the drawing board and had to redo a few things. But they played well. The girls played really well. We were focusing on clearing the ball all week, and they did a really good job of that, which has been something we struggled with the last couple of games. So we’re very pleased about that.”
Carmel will play the winner of Sectional 4 next week in the state semi-finals.
Hamilton Southeastern and Guerin Catholic will play for the Sectional 2 title after both schools advanced to the final with wins on Thursday.
