Carmel traveled to Columbus North on Thursday and came home with its sixth straight victory, 60-26.
The Greyhounds outscored the Bull Dogs in each of the four quarters. The first period was close, with Carmel leading 11-10, but the ‘Hounds blasted through the second quarter to take a 26-12 halftime lead. Kate Clarke made four 3-pointers in the first half, two in each period, and totaled 15 points.
Carmel added another 24 points in the third quarter for a 50-23 advantage going into the fourth. Ava Carter threw in two triples for eight third-period points, while Emily Roper scored seven. The Greyhounds’ defense did the rest, holding Columbus North to three points in the fourth.
Clarke, making her first start of the season, scored 19 points. Hannah Lach finished with 12 points and Carter scored 10; each had two 3s.
Carmel is 11-6 and hosts Mishawaka Marian Saturday afternoon.
