Sheridan girls beat Trojans, improve to 5-1 in HHC

The Sheridan girls basketball team won its third straight game Friday, beating Tri-Central 38-33 in an away Hoosier Heartland Conference game.
It was a close game throughout, as the Blackhawks led 8-7 after the first quarter. Ashley Webel helped out with two 3-pointers during that period. The Trojans came back to take a 15-14 lead by halftime. Sheridan outscored Tri-Central in each of the next two quarters, with Taylor Bates and Riley Reed each scoring four points in the third period. The ‘Hawks led 25-23 after three quarters, then added 13 more points in the fourth to get the win.
Webel finished with 12 points, including three 3s. Bates added nine points while Reed scored eight points.
Sheridan is 5-1 in conference play and 11-3 overall. The ‘Hawks play Tuesday at Lapel.
