Dear Editor:

My name is Donnie Holland, and I proudly served with the Indiana National Guard in Vietnam. For years, I fought to get my unit the recognition it deserved. Despite numerous attempts, no one was able to help us – until I met Congresswoman Victoria Spartz.

Congresswoman Spartz didn’t just listen to our story. She took action. She worked tirelessly, pushed through obstacles, and refused to give up on us. Her determination and genuine commitment to veterans made all the difference.

This summer, after decades of waiting, my fellow soldiers and I finally received the Presidential Unit Citation, one of the highest honors a military unit can receive. For those of us who served together in Vietnam, this recognition meant more than words can express.

Victoria Spartz understands that honoring our veterans requires more than speeches and promises. It takes hard work, persistence, and a willingness to fight for those who fought for our country.

Congresswoman Spartz went above and beyond for me and my fellow soldiers. I will never forget what she did for us.

Thank you, Congresswoman Spartz. You have earned my deepest gratitude, respect, and full support.

Donnie Holland
Anderson, Ind.
