Hamilton Heights High School recently celebrated National Apple Crunch Day with a special treat created by a student.
Senior Ayden Miller, a student in the Culinary Internship Program, took on the challenge of developing an original recipe and preparing it for the entire high school to enjoy. Students and staff were treated to Miler’s homemade Apple Fritter Bites, made with apples from Tuttle Orchards and served alongside fresh apples from the local orchard. The event highlighted not only the flavors of fall but also the creativity, skill, and dedication he has developed through his culinary studies.

While students across all Heights’ buildings enjoyed a variety of fresh apples from Tuttle Orchards as part of National Apple Crunch Day, Miller’s Apple Fritter Bites were a special feature exclusive to the high school. Even more exciting, he submitted his recipe to the Indiana Grown for Schools Recipe Contest, giving his culinary creation the chance to be recognized on a larger stage.
The Hamilton Heights community is proud of students like Miller who use their talents to create meaningful experiences for others and showcase the incredible opportunities available through the district’s Career and Technical Education programs.
Best of luck in the contest, Mr. Miller!
