Braun Administration cuts licensing times in half, accelerating Hoosiers’ entry into workforce

Governor Mike Braun announced on Monday, Aug. 24, that his administration has cut the average processing time across all professional license types by half, creating a faster path into the workforce for Hoosiers while maintaining the state’s safety, training, and skill requirements.

“Quicker time to licensure means a more direct line into a new job and a bigger paycheck for Hoosiers,” Gov. Braun said. “We are cutting red tape and breaking down barriers to great jobs without sacrificing safety, training, or skill requirements.”

Average processing time across all license types fell from approximately 11.8 days in January 2025 to approximately 5.9 days in July 2026.

The improvements have accelerated licensing across professional, technical, healthcare, and public-safety fields.
