Donna Jennette Gipson

November 10, 1956 – August 8, 2026

Donna Jennette Gipson was born on November 10, 1956, in Lebanon, Ind. With a spirit as bright as the day she was born, she inspired everyone around her with her compassion, creativity, humor, and intelligence. Donna had an innate ability to make those around her feel welcome and cherished, always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word. She was a beacon of love and warmth to her family, friends, and community in Sheridan.

Donna passed away on August 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known her.

In her professional life, Donna was a smart and successful accountant, always bringing her creative problem-solving skills to the fore. But it was outside of work where her passions truly shone. She had a profound love for her family, and her grandkids held a special place in her heart. Donna’s love for life was infectious, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday activities. Cooking, reading, traveling, and engaging in puzzles kept her active and curious. An accomplished musician in her youth, she played in the band during her high school years, a testament to her creativity and talent. Her commitment to her faith was reflected in her role as a Secretary and fill-in minister at times, further demonstrating her compassionate heart and love for our Lord.

Donna is survived by her loving mother, Alice Gipson; her daughter, Paula Gipson; her sister, Karen (Rodger) Hammack; her brothers, Allan (Valorie) Gipson, Danny (Shari) Gipson, and Donald (Lisa) Gipson; and her grandchildren, Aaron, Sean, Manuel, and Beverley Gipson. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Gipson.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Home, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the same location with pastor Markus Dennis officiating. The service will also be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person at my.gather.app/remember/donna-gipson.
