In “Roaring Twenties” Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap … until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie.

Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the American Dream: fame, fortune, and acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.

Civic Theatre’s 2026 YAP musical brings together talented high school performers from all over central Indiana for an exciting, fully staged production. This dynamic program provides young actors the opportunity to build their skills, collaborate creatively, and shine on the Civic Theatre stage.

Auditions

• Auditions for Annie are set for Aug. 17 and 18. More information and audition forms will be available soon.
• Auditions for Jr. Civic Company are set for 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25 and 26. Auditions are open to students ages 10 to 14 with Jr. Civic class or comparable experience. Students are only required to attend one audition date. More information and audition forms will be available soon.
